Today was Everyday Daddy’s turn to read from the Scriptures at church. It was a treat to see Rich in his coat and tie, a rare event indeed. Cartoonists aren’t known for their business attire.
After the reading and just before the sermon Johnny leaned against me and said, “Momma…I don’t feel so good.” His face was white and his lip was quivering. We quietly gathered our things and slipped out of church to take him home. After buckling in and making sure Johnny was comfortable, I told Rich, “Good job with the reading, Honey. You were great.”
Johnny piped in, “And, you were cute, too!”
