Every year I try to capture a magical, memorable photo of you-know-who for Christmas cards. It was easier when he was smaller. He smiled a lot and don’t all babies just look wonderful dressed up in their Christmas outfits? But, as we’ve embraced the dinosaur years snagging a decent shot is indeed a rare thing. So, this year I’ve chosen the, “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” approach. So here’s to a very growly Christmas.

How cute!!
LOL. And the whole toothlessness of it makes it even more ferocious! Priceless picture!
I think it’s perfect.
Absolutely wraps up this age.
Bravo!
jules, this TOTALLY rocks! i love it! my rilee just lost her first tooth and it’s simply adorable!
It is rare to get my 8 year old to smile in pictures these days too. I thought that was a teenage thing. He never wants his picture taken. It’s to the point where I tell him that people are going to think I only have one child (his sister…who poses like a princess every time.)
What a shame he didn’t lose a couple of teeth or anything, just to make the photo even cuter.
I stopped trying for “that” picture several years ago and now just use candid photos – usually from our summer vacation. This year, I chose a design that had one larger, main photo (of the two kids – together, smiling – from our summer vacation) and then three little mini pictures – one of my son face, but obviously in his band uniform, one of my daughter’s face, but obviously in her cheerleading uniform (their fall school activities) and then the third is of me and the hubby.
I think your “join ‘em” attitude is the way to go!
Blessings!
PS – And a tip for when you reach the teen years: NEVER show them your Christmas photo/card layout plans before you have them printed. There will ALWAYS be someone who objects for some reason (the zit, the smile, the hair, etc.) – so just choose the one YOU like, print it and mail it. Seriously.
“All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, my two front teeth”. Great… now I’ll be stuck with that song in my head for the rest of the day. Cute pic, by the way.
