What if September 8, 2009 was the first day of a new beginning? What if September 8 was the day you keep your children home…for good? What if conservative parents, Christians and non-Christians, let their behavior match their speech and kept their children home on September 8th? What if we kept our children home for good? What if we take a stand and put our children first?
What If on September 8th

Well, that won’t be a problem for us, since we homeschool.
BUT…if my children DID go to public school, I’d definitely keep ‘em home.
Well, our home would look no different, we are just starting our homeschooling adventure and are loving it.
But the country? Wow.
And I think part of the question you are asking is “What would happen if we stopped complaining and belly-aching and actually did something!” It is much easier to complain than to take action.
Just a little reminder to everyone: There are many of us believers out there in the public school sector who are passionate about teaching, and passionate about being a light in a dark place. I won’t be showing the video stream in my classroom. I will be teaching the new spelling words for the week, doing an art project, reviewing fractions and beginning a creative writing portfolio.
Beloved: Be gentle in word and deed.
Sarah, that’s absolutely wonderful…I agree that there are many conservative and/or Christian teachers who have no intention of subjecting their students to this message…but what about in the public schools where the superintendents have said that it’s mandatory for teachers to show the video?
Dear Sarah – we have almost none of you out here in Southern CA, and those that are here are forced to teach “tolerance” as early as kindergarten. In many parts of the country there is little hope in the public schools.
My comment of acting was focused on way more than schools. We would much rather complain about the problems than act on them, and that makes me sad.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome.
If we want change we have to act…
