A Time of Thanksgiving

by Everyday Mommy on November 4, 2009

This is my first year to participate in Rebecca Writes annual November of Thanksgiving and I pray that you’ll consider joining in as well.

Visit Rebecca’s site for details.

It is with great joy that I share my thankfulness for my son.  I was nearing forty when he was born, and had come to think that I might never have children, though a child had been a lifelong dream.  I’ll never forget the day he was born, almost 8 years ago.  It was the day after Christmas and I was scheduled to be induced early that morning.  I labored from 7am till around 8pm when it was decided that a C-section was necessary.  It made no difference to me, for I was ready to meet my son.  God had faithfully answered every one of our prayers for our baby, including my prayer for “a big baby”.  He tipped the scales at just under 10 pounds, 21 inches long.

As delightful and lovable as infants are, I can say that the days with Johnny grow sweeter and sweeter.  It is a joy to watch him grow and to get to know the person God has created Him to be.  It’s a story of a life unfolding before my eyes and for this I am so very thankful.
