I thought that a little update may be in order so let me share the rundown on the Everyday Family and the status of my order pad.
The New Year dawned with much sadness as my father has faced a number of health issues over the last two months. Suffice it to say, I’ve been completely overwhelmed as I’ve become a full-time member of the Sandwich Generation, caring for aging parents on one side and a young child on the other. Most of my days are spent chauffeuring my parents to and from the doctor, running errands and making trips to the pharmacy. Add to that homeschooling, housework, cooking, blogging and graphic design and you can see that my plate is rather full.
Curiously, the fact that my order pad is closed has not stopped the emails which begin with, “I know you’re not taking orders right now, but…”
No ifs, ands or buts about it. My order pad is closed so, as much as I’d love to help everyone, I’m simply not able. I am working my way through the orders I have and hope to be back on solid ground soon. I will keep this blog updated so please stop by here for info on my re-opening.
My thanks to all of you for you loyalty and for making Everyday Design a success!

I was wondering about you! I’m sorry to hear about your father’s ill health. I know you must be so busy and I don’t know how you are doing it all. Best of luck to you and thanks for the update.
I just wanted to say I’m sorry to hear about your Dad. I’m also a part of that “sandwich” generation so I understand what you’re going through. I homeschool my 8 and 5 year, my Mom had a double lung transplant last spring (she’s doing great now) and now I’m the in charge of my Father’s care. He has advanced Alzheimer’s (thankfully, my parents are divorced and my Mom is reamarried. At least I had a Step Father to help with her) So, between the 2 of them my life has been CRAZY this past year! And now, my Dad is declining, so everyday brings a new challenge. Just know you’re not alone in this!
I hope your Dad gets better.

Hey, Jules! Just wanted to let you know I’m thinking about you. I know it’s easier said than done, but please, please, please remember to take some time for Jules, too.
Sending happy, healthy thoughts and lots of hugs,
H
Just wanted to let you know that you are in our prayers. I know how hard that can be, and I wanted to remind you of one thing. Don’t forget yourself. Don’t burn yourself out. Do what you have to do, but be sure you have some “me time”.
Hope things get better soon, take care!

I’m sorry to hear about your dad’s health issues, Jules. He’s in my prayers, as are you because I know exactly what it feels like to be between those two slices of bread.
I’m so sorry to hear about all you are doing with. Hope you can find some “me” time soon!
Jules, My prayers are with you and your dad. That Sandwich Generation thing is a big deal these days. My mom is currently taking care of my grandma as she lives out her final days, which takes a lot out of her. Fortunately, my brothers and I are all out of the house, so she doesn’t have to worry about us anymore (much
I can’t imagine how tough it must be to balance everything you do. I’d like to humbly point out our latest issue of our magazine (it’s a free download) mainly because we had a woman write a really neat piece on using things she learned from childhood that helped her while she took care of her aging mother. The article is called “Lessons I learned when the tables turned.” I thought it might be something you’d appreciate. http://kimandjason.com/blog/2008-01-31/kim-jason-magazine-3-little-things.html
Oh gosh, I’m sorry–your days must be crazy busy! I’m not sure where I fit in on your order list, but I’ll hear from you when I hear from you. Hope things get easier!
Oh no, Jules. ((hug)) Take care of you.
Hi Jules,
Just a note to say thanks for the update. I’m sorry about your dad. I can’t find much computer time in these days, and no one I know is sick. Believe me, we all understand. Take care and God bless.
