SO MUCH FOR NO MORE NAPS

by Everyday Mommy on May 28, 2006

The Everyday Family has been on the go this weekend, as I’m sure most of you have.  Combine that with lots sunshine and pool time and you have one exhausted kid on your hands.

LoveBug has been strutting around like a peacock this week, all due to the fact that we have eliminated his nap.  Regardless of the weeping and gnashing of teeth by Mommy, we are forging ahead.  No naps!  LoveBug has been so vigilant about this that he has reminded me.  Daily.  No nap, Momma!

But, the rough-n-ready pace finally took it’s toll.  Around 5pm the kid just crashed.  He sat down on the couch and in minutes was out-like-a-light.  Everyday Daddy grabbed a punch of throw pillows from all around the house and made a giant stack of them, between the couch and the coffee table.  He went upstairs to grab a book to read and when he returned he found LoveBug sleeping on the pillow stack!  Apparently he’d rolled off the couch and onto the pillows without ever waking.

See photographic evidence above.

Oh! So sweet! My mom has a picture of my brother sleeping with his head in a babydoll crib (the rest of him didn’t fit!)I once slept with my new red shoes. The photographic evidence is black and white (hey–it was the 50’s!) but for some reason, when I look at those shoes in that picture to this day they look like Dorothy’s ruby slippers.

Well, Lovebug’s body knows when he’s tired, LOL! Looks like all he needed was a ‘cat nap’!

Oh man! How cute is that?!? I love summer for just this reason. The kids run and play so much they don’t realize how tired they are until they slow down. And then that’s all she wrote!
